Posted January 19th, 2007 by Marius TrusculescuAlienware is a well known in the computing world because of their high-end desktops and notebooks. They deliver only the best for their customers and the new Area-51 m5790 comes as a confirmation of that policy.
Like the majority of the new computer beasts, this model capitalizes on the computing power of the best processor on the market today, the Intel Core Duo. As if that was not enough to the customers can choose to have the CPU overclocked to 2.66 GHz for squeezing even more power at the expense of some extra heat. The storage capacity in this laptop may vary from 100 GB (achieved with a single 7200 RPM hard drive) to 400 GB (using two 200 GB drives) while the available RAM memory can start at 512 MB having the 2 GB mark as the superior limit. The gaming customers can be happy as they can choose between two ATI and a NVidia graphics cards, all having 256 MB of built-in RAM.

Moving on to the connectivity area we notice the 802.11 a/b/g wireless card, the Ethernet adapter, 4 USB 2.0 ports, a card reader and numerous other ports. As this laptop is for the next generation it could not miss a next-gen DVD and Alienware choose to include a Blu-ray disc with which you can read drives that have as much as 25 GB of data on a single layer. As a n extra the 17″ LCD Display will prove to be a good asset when watching the new HD movies that come out on Blu-ray disks.
