Sharp Aquos BDHP21U Blu-ray Disc Player

This is a Blu-ray disc player specially designed to work with your Sharp Aqous LCD TV and hooking them together with an HDMI cable will allow you to use them as one system. It supports full high definition 1080p and there is a 24 frames per second mode for a cinema feel. It has support for 7.1 channel surround sound. It is also capable of upscaling DVDs and it will happily play CDs as well.
You can view JPEGs as a slideshow if you put in a CD you have burned. There is no network support but you can use the USB to update the software if you need to. This device has received mixed reviews and the early models obviously had some issues. The main complaints are that it is slow to operate, that it doesn’t play some discs and that it doesn’t ship with an HDMI cable. You can get it for $200 but it probably isn’t worth looking at unless you own a Sharp Aquos LCD TV already.
