Philco TB100HH9 Digital to Analog TV Converter Box

With the mass switch over to digital US broadcast television will be changing from analog on June 12th 2009. If you have an old television set which uses an antenna you’ll need to get a converter box. Apparently you can get coupons from the government to help with the expense and get $40 off which would reduce the cost of this converter down to under $5.
This device is designed to receive digital standard and high definition broadcasts and convert them into analog. It also has a remote control and can display onscreen information about the programmes sent by local TV broadcasters. It supports Dolby Digital, stereo audio and has a composite video out connection. It also supports V-chip parental controls and digital closed captioning. It is cheap and functional but admittedly on the ugly side. However if you don’t intend to update your TV and you are on a budget this could be a good solution.
