This DVD recorder from Panasonic has a built in digital TV tuner which handles both digital and analogue signals. It also offers upconversion on standard format video so your DVDs are upscaled to 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is ideal for connecting up to an HDTV via HDMI. This device also supports Panasonic VIERA link so you can control multiple Panasonic VIERA devices through a single remote.

The device also has an SD memory card slot and a USB port, although the USB port can only be used for photos or music. It will happily play burned DVDs and CDs as well as standard ones and it has support for the DVD-RAM format and the DivX codec. Some consumer reviews report technical problems with this model but assuming you don’t run into problems on that front it is a good device for the reasonable price of $199.78 on Amazon right now.
