Announced at the beginning of the month and long waited at CeBIT,Fifth Media’s AXIA HSDPA Multimedia STB platform didn’t let us down. This “setup box” is a convergent platform that combines easily 3.5 Mobile Broadband with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth able to offer GSM, SIP and VoIP and also IPTV. Thanks to the SIP server multiple users can take simultaneous VoIP calls. There are other things that kept our attention, like Media Streaming nor payment applications (like ePayment). It supports quad-band GSM, HSDPA, UMTS, EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth 2.0 and has 802.11g Wi-Fi connectivity and if it comes to music or video it has MP3, WMA, MPEG4 and WMV files support.
The system runs on Microsoft and can be used for various solutions like PBX systems or house surveillance. You connect it either using an LCD touch screen display or the old style with a keyboard, mouse and classic monitor.
