The ASUS O!Play is yet another device designed to bring all of your media together and allow you to access it in the living room on your HDTV. It is a sleek, black box with a remote control and it can be connected to your home network or you can plug eSATA and USB drives directly into it. It supports full 1080p HD footage and lossless audio. All that seems to be missing is wireless support and you’ll have to plug in an Ethernet cable if you want to stream files from your PC.
The device supports a wide range of formats. In fact one of the selling points is the fact you won’t have to convert any of your video, audio or image files in order to play them via this box. The menu system features clear icons and is designed to be simple to use. In addition to HDMI and optical audio ports there is support for composite cables as well. This is a decent device available for $99.99. The wide range of format support is great and the only thing that lets it down is the lack of wireless.
