Posted January 30th, 2007 by Marius Trusculescu

Everybody loves big TV’s so LG is trying to use that in order to increase their profits. However we don’t mind that as long as we receive good quality products for our money and a good example for that kind of products is the 60PY2DR (don’t get me started on the bad choice of name picking).

LG 60The device of our interest is a 60″ Plasma HDTV (High Definition TV) with an integrated DVR (Digital Video Recorder). Basically, with this device you can watch TV and record your favorite shows, football games and everything else you like on the 160 GB hard drive for watching it later.

Trying to deliver the best LG’s product brings an astonishing resolution of 1366×768, a 1000 cd/m² brightness and a 5000:1 contrast ratio. If you think older videos won’t look good on this huge screen at this resolution you should know the XD Engine will improve the old videos ensuring the best picture quality for your old media.
