According to Akihabaranews, Toshiba has just launched two new models: U101 and U201. The difference between those two is the storage. The first is equipped with 1GB memory, while the second has 2GB. The MP3 players are using the latest technology from Toshiba, respectively the LSII chipset which offers the best audio quality in a compact size.

The Toshiba Gigabeat MP3 players have built-in FM tuner and FM transmitter. That means you can share your music through FM waves. Furthermore, the Gigabeat U series offer direct encoding of the audio source in MP3. An 1.1” LED control screen will help you to navigate easily. The tiny devices measure 76.5×36.2×10.9mm and weight only 36g. We don’t have information about the prices yet.
