iRiver x20: The Budget Player

Posted March 29th, 2007 by Mihnea Boiangiu

iRiver x20 is the newest product released by the Korean company. As you know the iRiver is a budget solution. The MP3 player is very accessible regarding the price. It comes in three variants of storage: 2GB/4GB/8GB. The price for the middle version could go around $200. That is a good price for an audio/video player. It is cheaper than the iPod.

We found the device very interesting. The sleek design and the glossy cover make the iRiver a serious competitor for the iPod, or other media players. The iRiver x20 was built on two principles: functionality and usability. A five-way button and a scroll wheel will help its users to surf the content. It features a large 2.2″ QVGA display, microSD card slot, a built-in FM radio and voice recording utility.

Its direct adversary is the Samsung YP-K3. But the market for MP3 players is in a continuous expansion, so there will be a piece for each one.
