Posted January 18th, 2007 by Mihnea Boiangiu

Eleksen bagWindows Vista offers a great feature called Windows SideShow, which allows auxiliary devices to display information received via wireless network from a Windows Vista notebook or PC. With this utility you will be able to access the computer, scroll through emails, check out photos and listen to music, all wirellessly and without going near your computer.

Eleksen has incorporated this technology into a bag. They’ve created a module called Wearable Display Machine, which allows bag manufacturer to use this new gadget. The Wearable Display Module (WDM) can be easily integrated into soft-goods like briefcases and backpacks. It provides the first ‘in-bag screen’ available for any computer electronics product. WDM lets consumers connect their carry cases directly to their computer and view critical glance data like email, appointments and other information from the bags exterior, on the go, without needing to open the bag or access the Windows Vista-based device.

The Eleksen Wearable Display Module consists in a 2.46 inch Active TFT LCD screen and 1 GB of storage for data. The WDM is controlled by an ElekTex interactive touchpad with 7-button controls including a dedicated MENU and BACK button as well as 4 navigation buttons and a GO button. The device will be available from this month according with the Eleksen press release. There is no information about the price of this gadget.
