Cowon iAudio D2 review
Posted April 10th, 2007 by Mihnea BoiangiuThe Asian manufacturer Cowon is shipping a new PMP model. We talk about the Cowon iAudio D2 multimedia player. It packs high technology even it is smaller than iRiver x20. The Cowon iAudio D2 has the usual touchscreen with intuitive media buttons. You can work with it just with your fingers, but Cowon features a Touchpen which is a triangular stylus.

Cowon has designed a new user interface especially for D2 model. A control bar appears in the middle of the screen and it disappear after seconds of inactivity. At the bottom you can see the context-based menus.
The 4GB player has a SD/MMC slot so its users can expand the memory up to 8GB. That could be very useful as the D2 PMP has a lot of multimedia functions from voice recording to picture and text viewing. It supports common audio formats like MP3, WMA, OGG Vorbis and WAV or others like FLAC and APE. The 2.5-inch QVGA screen should provide good quality for viewing AVI and WMV video files. And that is not all! Cowon equipped this device with a FM tuner, so there is no way to get bored around this PMP. Cowon iAudio D2 has many functions like equalizers, BBE, Mach3Bass, 3D Surround and TV-out. The battery life can go up to 46 hours. The price could be around £150.
All in all the general impression about Cowon iAudio D2 is positive. The PMP can compete with the iPod very well. Looking at the price I could say Cowon should be successful. There are no doubts that D2 model could reach the worldwide fame.
