Gaming LCDs from BenQ
Posted December 15th, 2006 by Mihnea BoiangiuBenQ is going to launch a new series of gaming LCDs ranging from 19″ to 24″. AU Optronics are the manufacturer of the LCD panel, and they are coming with very low response times. The first models are FP241W and the FP241VW and are used for the 24 inch screens. These monitors can display 1900×1200 pixels, making them capable up to 1080p HD. So the users can enjoy video content through PS2 and X-box consoles or HD DVD players. Contrast ratios range from 700:1 to 1000:1 (for the 24†panels) and the brightness range is between 300 cd/m2 and 500cd/m2 (on the 24†screens).

BenQ is using AMA Z dynamic video processing technology creating new era for LCD monitors. AMA Z technology is eliminating ghosting and motion blur around the screen edges. First they reduce the gray-to-gray response time using AMA technology, and the second they eliminate the artifacts present on hold-type displays due to the human visual system’s smooth pursuit tracking by inserting a black frame between each motion frame. This is going to get a clearly superior viewing experience with all types of video content.
These BenQ LCDs will be very successful due to the hitech features. They will become a new gaming standard worldwide.
