Corsair USB Secure Flashes with PIN code-locks

Posted January 15th, 2007 by Alex Ion

Corsair is facing some small problems. They have the 16GB flash card but the speed is not as they want it. They use more chips for a 16GB Corsair chip which in fact makes it slower when transferring big blocks of data. These being said they’ve decided for two models. Corsair Flash Voyager made for storage, and the Corsair Flash Voyager GT with less space but faster. Of course we would want both of them in one. Looks like it’s not available from Corsair.

They have launched a nice concept though. The new USB flash cards from Corsair will have a built-in system for better security. Apart from the fingerprint or authentication codes the new system from Corsair is based on a six-digit PIN code that should be introduced on the integrated numeric keypad. Pressing a wrong code would make the USB card invisible to the operating system, because it’s not powered until the correct code is in. Neat huh?
