Nokia 6110 Navigator

At the annual 3GSM Congress in Barcelona, Nokia introduced the new Nokia 6110 Navigator. The new mobile brings together GPS and AGPS (Assisted Global Positioning System) technologies. The Nokia 6110 Navigator is a 3.5G generation cellphone. It features a 2.2″ QVGA TFT color screen, a 2 megapixel camera with sliding lens protector. Nokia’s slider phone has built-in voice-guided 3D GPS navigation, the Nokia Navigator application, and local maps pre-installed on the included memory card. Wow! That should be really cool! I mean this phone is a real GPS device. You can have all information about POI (Points of Interest), optional location-based services and content available for purchase, such as: traffic, weather, travel guides, and map updates at the city, regional, and country level. The navigations is easy, as the phone features a dedicated Navigation button.

Nokia 6110 Navigator

“Location-based experience is among the fastest growing areas in mobile devices. Offering integrated GPS functionality, the Nokia 6110 Navigator will put maps, routing and navigation into the hands of the broadest consumer market world-wide,” said Peter Ropke, Senior Vice President.

Nokia 6110 Navigator is a great piece of art. The cellphone includes all multimedia features and utilities: Bluetooth, flash camera, multimedia player, office software, FM radio, mini USB, microSD support up to 2GB etc. The Navigator offers a talk-time of up to 3.5 h (GSM) and 2.5 h (WCDMA), and a standby time of up to 11 days (GSM and WCDMA). The phone is expected in stores very soon. The rumors about the prices are saying the Navigator will cost $600 without contract.

Nokia 7373 Special Edition

Posted Wednesday, February 21st, 2007 by Marius Trusculescu

A famous fashion designer, Giambattista Valli, and Nokia teamed up again to create the new mobile phone to be unveiled at the Fashion Week in Paris. The new gorgeous device will most likely draw a lot of attention and its tech features will not be the ones that impress.

Nokia 7373 special edition

When referring to the new 7373 design Giambattista Valli declared: “Like a dress, shoes and jewelry, the Nokia 7373 Special Edition phones follow the theme of my collection”. Even if the two mobile phones you see in this picture represent the only available colors, customers won’t be at all disappointed as the phone will be pre-loaded with a “behind the scenes” video, a selection of matching Valli wallpapers, graphics and the exclusive “Rhodium” ring tone.

If you are interested in the 7373 mobile phone you must know it will be available in several European countries at a price of about €280 (approx $340).

A Glimpse At Nokia’s N77 Features

Posted Tuesday, February 20th, 2007 by Marius Trusculescu

Last weeks 3GSM conference in Barcelona was really overwhelming as a huge number of new products were presented for the first time. This is the reason we haven’t got the chance of elaborating on the features on all of them right then, but we gladly do this now after the waters have settled down.

Nokia N77 TV Enabled Mobile Phone

The N77 by Nokia is supposed to be a handset that tries to improve the TV viewing experience on mobile phones. Actually Nokia didn’t presented this as a mobile phone, but as a N series multimedia portable computer with TV viewing enabled. As the focus on video delivering is obvious the Finish manufacturer packed this device with a 2.4″ color LCD display capable of offering up to 16 million colors.

Featuring 2 GB of storage, the N77 is also ideal for multimedia applications like music listening trough the built-in stereo speaker system or digital photography trough the 2 MP digital camera it packs. The operating system of choice for Nokia was the S60 3rd Edition Symbian OS, so if you are not satisfied with the available storage capacity a DAVE hard drive will allow an upgrade of 10-20 GB.

The device will work with 3G (WCDMA 2100 MHz), EDGE and GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz) and it will be available in the second quarter of 2007 at a price of about 370 euros ( approx. $450).

Nokia E90 Communicator The Legend Evolve

Nokia launches their new S60-series E90 Communicator. Communicator is, was and I am sure it will always be the quality mobile phone for business men or for those that demand a lot. You can even consider this is not a mobile phone, but a business device, because it’s really like taking your office with you on your trips.

Nokia E90 Communicator is a quad-band GSM phone, with Wi-Fi connectivity and featuring HSDPA, based on the S60 platform. It has a 3.2Mpix auto-focus camera and flash on the back and a front camera for 3G calls, FM radio, a music and a video player. Thanks to the S60 browser it can load a full web page with full width on the 16million colors display. Another nice thing of the Nokia E90 Communicator is the integrated GPS to work with Nokia Maps if you ever need to find a street or make your itinerary.

Expect to pay $1000 or maybe more for the Communicator Legend but I am sure it’s well worth it. We’re expecting them in Q3 of 2007 (release date is set for Q2). Check up Nokia!

Nokia N76

Posted Sunday, February 4th, 2007 by Mihnea Boiangiu

This new N-Series cellphone will make sensation on the market. It is the slimmest 3G clamshell at the moment. Although Nokia has taken something from Motorola RAZR’s design, N76 is one of the most beautiful cellphones I’ve ever seen. The main idea is “intelligent inside, dynamic outside”. Nokia N76 is a veritable computer regarding the list of functions and features. It can shoot high-resolution pictures thanks to the 2megapixel camera, can play thousands of songs and connect instantly to the web.

Nokia N76

The main attraction is the 2.4″ QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) 16M color main display. It is really impressive for a cellphone. The external display has 256k colors and 160 x 128 pixels. N76 supports WCDMA 2100/EGSM 850/900/1800/1900 or EGSM 850/900/1800/1900 for some regions. It runs S60 Platform SDK for Symbian OS, which allows its users to test JAVA applications compatible with S60 Platform. And this is not all! Nokia N76 is a great multimedia center. The 2M camera has 20x digital zoom, a 1600 x 1200 resolution , Red-Eye reduction and flash. The secondary camera can make pictures too and video clips. The music player supports a wide rage of audio files: AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, MP3, MP4, M4A, WMA, AMR (NB-AMR), MIDI Tones (poly 64), Mobile XMF, RealAudio 7,8,10, SP-MIDI, True tones (WB-AMR). The phone has dedicated one-touch music buttons. N76 supports video playback, video recording and streaming.

The list will continue. Nokia N76 is a great business organizer. It can work with Office Utilities like Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Besides, its users can manage PDF and zip files. I cannot miss the other utilities: Bluetooth, microSD card (2GB), USB port, Push-To-Talk and FM radio. The cellphone has a main disadvantage - the battery. Its battery life is not one of the best. The slim look has an expense - Nokia N76 only has 2 hours talktime on 3G and 2 hours 45 minutes on GSM while standby time is 8.5 days. To sum up, I would say N76 is a great device, maybe a gadget with stylish look and intelligence specific to Nokia. The price for European zone could go up to €390/£250. The phone is available in red or black.

Preview Of The N95 Phone

Posted Tuesday, January 16th, 2007 by Marius Trusculescu

The N95 is a project that wants to include every piece of technology in the small packaging of a mobile phone. Planned to be launched this quarter (Q1) of 2007 this phone will probably be the most wanted phone on the market (at least until the arrival of the iPhone).

N95 Nokia's phone The N95 phone will include a 5 MP digital camera for both taking photos and recording videos on the 160 MB of built-in memory and on any additional memory the consumer might want to install using the included SD card slot. The videos will be of course available for playing with the default media player which can also play the most common types of music files like mp3, AAC and others. In case you don’t like the music in your own collection you can always listen to the radio as a fully functional tuner is present.

The device will also feature a WiFi 802.11 adapter, Bluetooth support and a mini USB port for connections to other devices and to the internet, as well as for synchronizing the device with your PC. Nokia E62 Smartphone

Posted Sunday, January 14th, 2007 by Marius Trusculescu

The competition on the smartphone market is market is beginning to get tougher and tougher as new products appear on the market and even the mighty Apple has joined in. But this is not at all a bad news as it will eventually lead to better products and smaller prices which is a great news for us, the consumers.

E62 is a smartphone made by Nokia and targeted at the business market. For those of you interested, businessmen or just fans, I will enumerate its key features in this article.

The first thing noticeable is the larger than average display (320×240) and a QWERTY keyboard, both added to increase the overall functionality of the product. The built-in memory of 80 MB can be increased by up to 2GB trough a mini SD card inserted in the appropriate slot. Among the pluses of the product I mention the Bluetoth, Infrared and USB connectivity, but a major drawback is a lack of a WiFi connection.

nokia e62

The hardware features of E62 are modest when compared with rivals like Moto Q or the Blackberry, and consequently Nokia markets its software abilities. The Finnish company centered this phone’s market campaign around the idea of emailing and email attachment handling. As a consequence there is support for Microsoft Office file viewing and editing while also including the most common applications like calendar, calculator and instant messaging.

Being a Quad band phone the E62 is available for practically anyone on the planet, so, if you like it, it is probably available for sale in your country.

Nokia N93i, mobile blogging with Vox

Posted Thursday, January 11th, 2007 by Alex Ion

Do you like Nokia mobile phones? Do you like to blog? Do you like to take a picture and then post it on the internet in the next minutes? It’s quite obvious that the new Nokia N93i is going to make it easy with the preloaded blogging service and the 3.2 megapixel camera to just record your videos or take pictures and then upload them to Vox and share them to all your friends. Vox is their new videoblogging service.

Nokia doesn’t like the term smart phone therefore they are naming the new Nokia N93i a multimedia computer. Actually with a few clicks you can have all your videos and pictures posted on the web thanks to the Wi-Fi connection. The new N93i, successor of the N30 but slimmer and lighter it has a photo-editing software onboard and video-out so that you can link it to your TV. The phone actually has two main disadvantages. The $700 price and the fact that you should find an unlocked version if you live in the United States, because the N series phones are not very well received by American carriers.

Nokia Anounces 3 New Products

Posted Monday, January 8th, 2007 by Marius Trusculescu

As everybody expected today CES brought a lot of announcements from producers all around the world. The mobile phone market occupied a large part in the media coverage as new devices were announced by all the major competitors (the Treo 750, Sony’s W200 Walkman, etc). Looking to keep its leading position, Nokia introduced 3 new very fresh products this morning: N76, N800 and N93i.
Nokia's lineup

N76 is a clamshell phone which packs a 2 Mp camera and serves as a digital media player as well. Because the features offered could require an increase in the storage capacity, Nokia included a mini SD slot to ensure you can expand the memory size to have a bigger playlist. Looking at the applications we notice the phone also includes web browsing, instant messaging and an email client.

The N93i is the masterpiece of this lineup. Priced somewhere near the $800 mark the product is to be released in March 2007. Some of the features worth mentioning are the 3.2 Mp camera, the wireless connectivity and the 1Gb mini SD card included in the box. The 3.2 Mp camera can also save videos at 30fps and the video content can be streamed directly to a TV.

The last, but not the least is the N800. This device was offered in stores starting from the end of last week. I do not know if it was a mistake by Nokia or the sellers, but the specifications of this open source product were already known this morning at CES. Anyway I have to present it, as it is my personal favorite because of all the PC-like functions included. The display is a 800×480 one with a touchscreen functions that can simulate a QWERTY keyboard when needed. There are also WiFi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth, webcam, instant messaging, email client, web browser (Opera 8.0) and Skype functionalities were also announced. The best part is the price as it has been set at just $399.
