LG Prada (KE850) it’s finally official

LG Prada KE850

With all this iPhone frenzy it seems like some new hot wave hits us. We’ve been waiting for the LG Prada so much and it’s finally here. Does it look like an iPhone? Ok I am iPhone virused, too, but look at the picture. “Who’s your daddy?” you say?

LG Prada is the world’s “first completely touch screen mobile phone” and I would say one of the most desired from today since it will be present in the biggest and the most bigoted mobile stores, and in Prada shops. The phone itself is a celebrity, a VIP, that will start shipping from February in UK, France, Germany an Italy, and the will hit Asia in late March. The phone will not come in US very soon since it’s a tri-band GSM with EDGE.

Now that we’ve commented enough on it, we should let the features of the LG Prada speak for themselves. It’s a small and fashion mobile phone with 98.8 x 54 x 12 mm dimensions, has a 240×400 resolution on the 3-inch display. It comes equipped with Bluetooth 2.0, a 2 megapixel camera with Schneider-Kreuznach lens, a video player that supports MPEG4, H.264 and H.263 for video conferencing, software for viewing PPT, DOC, XLS, PDF and TXT files and a quality audio player for MP3, ACC, AAC+, WMA and RA extensions. Some other features worth mentioning are the External Memory Slot (microSD) and the Macromedia Flash UI.

If you were to compare it to the iPhone and I know you already are, then you should know that the iPhone is quad-band GSM with EDGE, built-in Wi-Fi and the dimensions are 115 x 61 x 11.6 mm and a 320×480 resolution screen. If you’re waiting for iPhone to launch in your country but you consider buying the new LG KE850 Prada prepare to spend €600/$776. Now do you know the answer for “Who’s your daddy?”.

S5200 From LG

Posted Monday, January 15th, 2007 by Marius Trusculescu

The S5200 is a cool mobile phone from LG designed to provide as much fun as possible from the new multimedia features it incorporates. The digital camera has become a standard and the 1.3 MP one in the S5200 will deliver high quality pictures at a resolution of 1280*960. As I don’t consider the digital zoom as an important feature for cameras, the ability to take up to 9 continuous pictures has impressed me the most. There is also the possibility of playing the most common types of video and audio files trough a PC like media player with included features like playlists editing, shuffle playing and a sound equalizer.

S5200The Bluetooth standard is of course implemented and the USB connection is as simple as possible. You can connect the phone to your PC using just an USB cable and there is no need for any piece of software as the Windows operating system will deal with it as with an ordinary memory stick. Moreover, you can use the 64 MB of the phone for mobile storage for small files like photos or music and even small video clips (as 64 MB is not very much when compared to today’s normal capacity of the USB flash drives).

The S5200 is a tri-band phone, working on almost all European networks but also on some networks in the US, so it is great choice for the people who like traveling a lot as they can benefit both from the phone connection and the media features.

LG SB190 - while waiting for the LG Prada

Posted Saturday, January 6th, 2007 by Alex Ion

The most expected LG mobile phone nowadays, the LG and Prada partnership has no release date yet. Many are looking forward to take a look at it because it’s going to be a winner, in designing term, that’s for sure.

Meanwhile LG launched the new SB190 in Korea a DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) TV compatible mobile phone. It’s a white elegant designed slider offering classic functionalities like a mp3 player or a CMOS and sensor 1.3 megapixel camera, which may not satisfy Korean tastes, where a 2megapixel phone is a must and is in fact, very common. It also have a built-in GPS and a DMB receptor.

The phone also have some other nice features like the QVGA resolution screen with 260k colors, mp3 and video playback capabilities. The phone main destination is Korea right now, available in the SK Telecom network, but we can bet it’s going to come to Europe pretty soon. When it will get worldwide LG will surely offer more information about the SB190 mobile phone.

LG KG 320S review

Posted Saturday, December 23rd, 2006 by Mihnea Boiangiu

LG KG 320S can be described in two words: small and simple. LG have created a nice mobile for low prices. If you want a good cellphone, nothing extravagant, KG 320S is the candidate. First impression when you see this mobile is business style. The small dimensions and its weight (only 70g) will strengthen your first opinion. The front side is very stylish and elegant, while the backside is like a digital camera.

The phone has a nice TFT display with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. The 1.3 megapixel camera allows you to take nice pictures and video images. KG 320S disposes of 128 MB internal memory. I would say it is sufficient for phone which isn’t pretentious. On the other hand, users, who want use the phone for multimedia purposes, would complain the memory is not enough because KG 320S doesn’t have a slot card. Other features that need to be mention are Bluetooth and the Mp3 player. In addition, the cellphone plays MP4, AMR, AAC and WMA files.

All in all, the ratio quality-price is very good. We recommend this cellphone for a low-budget user. You can obtain a good mobile with no expenses.

LG Chocolate - VX8500, KG800

LG Chocolate review

It got a lot of attention in the last few months mainly because of its design. Gorgeous mobile phone, slim, black and very fashionable with a red glowing touchpad. The mobile phone is a tri-band GSM with GPRS, with a camera of only 1.3 megapixel, 1280 x 960 pixels - not the best, and 128 MB internal memory. The navigation buttons are a little different, more likely as in an iPod.

If it were to make an overall impressions we would say that besides the very interesting design it doesn’t have more things that other phones won’t have. It’s just very nice and very sleek. The standard battery, Li-Ion 800mAh, has a stand-by up to 200hours, and talk time of up to 6hours.

The display is also very sleek with a TFT with 256k colors, 176 x 220 pixels, with touch sensitive navigation keys. The con of the display is that it will attract fingerprints.

The Lg Chocolate mobile phone also has a very nice list of features which include SMS, EMS, MMS, Email, the browser is WAP 2.0/xHTML compliant, includes a T9 and an Organiser among with the mp3 and mpeg4 player. You won’t have 3G on that phone, neither an infrared port, HSCSD or EDGE connections. It has however have Bluetooth and USB.

The main disadvantages are:

  • no memory card slot
  • no FM radio
  • no airplane mode
  • slow camera interface

The 15mm width LG Chocolate permits to be put in a small pocket or very tight jeans. The good price would surely win you as an owner.
