Solar-powered portable media player

Posted Friday, March 21st, 2008 by Mihnea Boiangiu

I agree with ecologists and energy preserving, so I want to make you aware about sun’s free energy that is out there. Thus, I want to greet the manufacturers of the eMotion Solar PMP.

eMotion Solar PMP

This gadget has a built-in solar battery charger so you won’t run out of juice. Its storage can upset some people because it has only 1GB internal memory and support only 2GB SD card. I think its performances can’t meet the market’s needs. The EM-SOL1GIG PMP supports MP1, MP2, MP3, WMA, WAV, ADPCM, AMR music files, AVI and MPEG4 video files and also JPEG, BMP, GIF for viewing photos.

Its screen of 320 x 240 pixels can offer a decent gaming experience for old school boys. Furthermore the device features an e-book reader and USB 2.0. The package includes a charger adapter for other electronic devices such as mobiles, cameras, music players. Protect the environment and go for it!

Buy it here for $159.

HalfMoon Chair is for Batman

Posted Thursday, March 20th, 2008 by Alex Ion

Halfmoon chair, or the batman chair

Designer Louis Saul is responsible for building the HalfMoon Chair, which as you can see from this angle looks like the place where Batman watches movies, doesn’t it? Another point of view is that the Batman chair has a skeleton-like design with cushions made from bright orange sponge rubber. Looks a lot like six-pack abs, doesn’t it? Oh, last thing I like is that the chair has storage space for books. I wonder if Batman was reading books …

Non-lethal web gun, to catch the bad guys

Non-lethal web gun, to catch the bad guys

I won’t put my word in, that this thing is for cops but they could use one to catch their suspects. Using compressed air the “NET-2000 Shooting Net Rod” fires a 52-square foot high-strength nylon net at 50 feet away to block the bad guys. This is a non-lethal gadget that my Grandma would probably be able to use (she won’t run I agree), because it sure looks like a flashlight to me when it’s not used for its purpose. Like [technabob] says, other than law enforcement it was designed to help animal catchers. The price is $419 from Chinagrabber and I already have ideas for some pranks …

How to Brand Your Business with Promotional Gadgets

Posted Monday, March 17th, 2008 by Mihnea Boiangiu

iPod Dock

Marketing is always a hard business. In order to increase the market visibility, the awareness and to build your brand, you should consider promotional products as a great strategy of marketing. I strongly believe that a great opportunity to brand your business is to use promotional products like gadgets, apparel, bags, pens etc. If your company doesn’t have a specialized marketing department you could work with professionals like Empire Promos.

Phone Holder

If you had attended trade shows or conferences you would have received tons of promotional objects. Although the promotional products come for free, not everybody wants to wear T-shirts or caps, but they all love the tech gift items. Everybody loves gadgets! First of all, the promotional gadgets could be useful and funny too. Personally, I would love to receive flash drives or promotional cellphone products like phone holders, cases or Bluetooth headsets.

You could also use promotional gadgets to please your clients and future customers. Moreover you can award your employees, advertise new services or launch new products. With Empire Promos you will receive promotional hints, tips and advices. It’s easier now to brand your business with promotional products.

Panasonic KX-WP800 Skype Phone

Posted Monday, March 17th, 2008 by Alex Ion

Panasonic KX-WP800 Skype Phone

A new Skype phone has been revealed in Japan a few days ago. Skype phones are not a new thing but for Panasonic it is, that’s their first. Dubbed KX-WP800, it has a 1.8-inch TFT LCD display, can store up to 500 names and can be used to make phone calls with Skype on the Internet, without using a computer thanks to a WLAN router (IEEE802.11b) incorporated.

If you live in Japan then it’s very easy, because they have 32,000 FON access points where the new Panasonic KX-WP800 can connect to. It’s going to be available for sale from March 28 and the price is going to be near $290.
