Samsung SyncMaster 940UX will be USB only

Posted Wednesday, February 21st, 2007 by Alex Ion

Samsung will bring at CeBIT next month, the new SyncMaster 940UX, a 19-inch LCD monitor that dumps the DVI and VGA connectors and is going to be USB only. Why USB only? Because via USB is the easiest way to connect or disconnect your device, plug it in when you need it, or take it out when you don’t. Another reason is the multiple LCD monitors connected at the same time, which will not require multiple graphics cards for each one.

However there is a small debate on how will the graphic processing is going to be done and rumors say the CPU will take that job which brings more questions in the air. Will the computer have less performance when connecting two or three monitors, will it fail in those demanding applications? Samsung says no, and they claim three monitors for multimedia and five for less intensive working will not slow down your machine. These questions will be answered at CeBIT when we will know if the solution is to use an external USB video card or just let it go like that. Release date is set for May, to come with Windows XP drivers at first and followed by Vista after.

…under 4 pounds (approx 2kg).

Nec's NP60 Projector The 246 x 72 x 177 mm (9.6″x2.8″x7″) device weights only 3.5 pounds (1.5 Kg) being the perfect choice if you are looking for a light yet powerful product. The image quality will satisfy anyone as the brightness is set at 3,000 lumens and the contrast is 1,600:1. Speaking of image quality I should mention the native XGA resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, but the device is able to display UXGA (1600×1200 pixels) resolution as well.

Customers will appreciate the most all the auto setup functions like the autofocus for the image, the auto signal detection, the automatic digital trapezoid correction or the auto power start function. And speaking of good news, the product is available immediately at a reasonable price of $1,299 with a lifetime that can reach up to 3000 hours in Eco-mode.

The new MW221U and MW201U wide screen LCD Monitors that Asus released on Friday are meant to provide the customers with new ways to enjoy the increasing media and eye-candy available on computers today. Benefiting from a Microsoft Windows Vista Certification the two new products will certainly deliver best performance when displaying the new Aero UI (User Interface) in Microsoft’s new OS (operating system).

Asus MW221U LCD Dispays

If the Windows Vista compliance, doesn’t tell you much about the real performance capabilities of the two new devices let’s see what they can really do. The 20″ and 22″ LCD displays offer an incredible 2 ms response time when displaying dynamic scenes so be sure you won’t notice even a glimpse of image lagging on this two monitors. To further detail the multimedia capabilities of them I will mention that both the MW221U and the MW201U have built-in DVI support and built-in stereo speakers with a headphone jack and they are both compliant with the HDCP (High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) standard.

All in all I must admit the two new products would look great on anyone’s desktop and the features they pack would certainly make the PC experience more enjoyable.

Although the name doesn’t tell you nothing, HANNSvibe LCD will impress you with its spectacular design. The white color takes this LCD TV out of the crowd. It has an interesting look because of the rounded case. The removal speakers in the front are other cool innovation. The idea is very clever, because you would like to place them for stereo listening during a movie, for example.

Sharp to produce World’s largest LCD TV

Posted Monday, January 22nd, 2007 by Mihnea Boiangiu

HD TV mania has just started. The global demand for LCD TV will be around 69 million in 2007 and estimated to grow up to 100 million units in 2009. Sharp recently unveiled its biggest LCD TV in production. It is the LCD monster Aquos of 108-inch (274 cm). The LCD TV was presented in Las Vegas at Consumer Electronics Show.

Sharp's 108

The 108-inch LCD is manufactured at Sharp’s Kameyama Plant, the first in the world using 8th-generation glass substrates. The success of this product is backed by Sharp’s great history in producing LCD screens. In 1988 Sharp’s was the first manufacturer that launched a 14-inch TFT LCD. Furthermore, they were permanently preoccupied of evolving their LCD models. So, in 2004 they launched the 45-inch model, followed in 2005 by 65-inch model. Sharp has been meeting the demand for high image quality by achieving resolution (4096 x 2160 pixel) four times higher than the current HD, the world’s highest contrast ratio (1 million:1) and fast full-motion video response rate (4 msec, 120 Hz). We didn’t find information regarding the prices, but we can tell you this TV is only on the Japanese market for the moment. Enjoy!
