Fujifilm FinePix Z5fd Makes A Blogger's Life Easier ?

It’s been some time since we haven’t presented small silver cameras. We love those big ones, semi-professional or for professionals that pop-out every once in a while, but I want all the bloggers know that Fujifilm FinePix Z5fd will help you blog. It’s a 6-megapixel camera, 3x optical zoom that costs $219.

It can shoot at full resolution and then save it for 640×480, crop it or trimming it for blog. However the problem is that on Devicepedia the biggest images we use are 480 pixels wide and it won’t do it. Also from what Gizmodo says, they don’t have file optimization.

Trimming for blog is really easy. You get to transfer the image via Infrared by pressing one button. No Bluetooth. The camera also comes with a smart timestamp that you control by setting the time difference. It also has the Fujifilm Intelligent Face Detection to auto-crop when you take pictures of faces.
The camera is not bad, but for $219 I think I can get a better one. Much better. Regarding to making a blogger’s life better, I am not sure if it will. It wouldn’t help me on Devicepedia, that’s for sure.

FujiFilm Finepix A610, A800, F40fd and IS-1 superzoom

FujiFilm is at it again. CES (consumer electronics show) 2007 is coming and even though digital camera manufactures release their new models at the Photo Marketing Association trade show in Las Vegas, we found a lot of producers eager to get a byte of the market 3 months before launching new digital cameras.

FujiFilm unleashed today four point-and-shoot Finepix digital cameras. Three of them are inexpensive, under $300 and a next level superzoom camera with and estimated price of $900. We’re talking here about the A610, a 6 megapixel camera with the price of $129, and the A800, an 8 megapixel with picture stabilization camera around $179. Both these two cameras have a 3x optical zoom lens, and a 2.5-inch LCD display.

The Finepix F40fd is an 8 megapixel camera also with a 3x optical zoom and a 2.5-inch LCD display and with picture stabilization. The retail price for the F40fd is going to be around $297.

About the resistance piece, a superzoom digital camera, the Finepix IS-1 is a 10.7x and 28-300mm optical zoom lens, similar to the S6000fd. The Is-1 model was made as an infrared-only digital camera, therefore the $899 price is understandable. Just like the Finepix F40fd, the new superzoom camera has the face detection advantages which simultaneously detects up to 10 faces in the scene, automatically sets optimized focus and exposure to take the best portrait shot, and does it all with incredible accuracy in as little as 0.05 seconds.

There should be one more advantage underlined, the fact that all the three lower-end cameras have a SD memory card slot along with the usual xD Picture Card slot and that the IS-1 superzoom now features a CompactFlash card slot. The IS-1 camera is going to be launched in February and the other three will be released in March.
