BenQ DC C1060 compact camera

Posted Thursday, October 9th, 2008 by Alex Ion

It’s been a while since our last digital camera, here on DevicePedia, so what I’m about to show you today is the new BenQ DC C1060. It’s a compact camera with a slightly different design than the C1050 that BenQ released last month with specs that are just about the same.

Packed with the new BenQ DC C1060, there’s a 10 megapixel sensor, a 2.7-inch LCD display, 3x optical zoom, a “Super Shake Free” system for those with shaky hands, the Smile Catch technology (some sort of face detection) and the ability to record video at 720 x 400 or 640 x 480. Other than these tech specs, the new style of the C1060 includes a leather texture grip which, trust me, feels great in your hand.

There’s no release date or a price, yet, but we’ll keep you posted.

A new wave of slim camera’s is conquering the digital photography market and maybe the main reason is the cool design. There is definitely something sexy about slim gadgets as they appeals to both the men and the women buyers and the designers are trying to fit as many features possible into the smallest package on the market.DC X720 BenQ Slim Digital CameraDC X720 BenQ Slim Digital Camera

BenQ’s engineers managed to present us with a great device by including in the half a inch (1.25 cm) thick DC X720 a 7 MP sensor, a 2.5″ larger than average LCD display and a high quality set of lenses. Even if the packaging is so small, BenQ’s digital camera offers 3x optical zoom along with the 4x digital zoom trough a beautifully designed objective.

Offering the possibility of taking pictures up to a resolution of 3072 x 2304 (7MP), the DC X720 also allows for video recording in the VGA standard (640×480 pixels) at 30 fps (frames per second). As the 18 MB of included memory might prove insufficient BenQ added an SD compatible expansion slot which allows the increase of the storage capacity by up to 2 GB.

Looking back at all the features it’s obvious the DC X720 is a great device and when you consider the sexy design it becomes an almost irresistible purchase.
