Not a long time ago there were voices screaming for underwater photography for those that are not really professionals but would like to have remembering memories from their divings there should be something to fulfill their needs. There were some intentions, with Olympus μ770SW which was both shock resistant and waterproof but it looks like ViVitar has the idea. They are launching the ViviCam 6200W for underwater photography with a 6.0 megapixel sensor, 2-inch Color LTPS display, 4x digital zoom and 16MB of internal built-in memory. The camera also has SD card support of up to 1GB and PictBridge.

The camera is wrapped in synthetic rubber and can be used as low as 10meters or 30 feet. If you go beyond that point you should expect seeing damages to your new ViviCam 6200W. The camera is powered by 2x AA batteries, has USB connectors, can record QVGA at 320 x 240, has pictures resolutions up to 2816 x 2112 and the dimensions are 118 x 71 x 36mm.
