This device is a great mixture of camera and camcorder. As a camcorder it is capable of capturing full 1080p high definition footage at 60 frames per second. It can also take 8 megapixel still shots. There is a 10x optical zoom for photographs and 16x zoom for video. It also has a built in flash and it is capable of high speed sequential shooting at 12 frames per second. There is a flip out 3 inch LCD for framing or playback. The Face Chaser technology is capable of recognizing up to 12 faces and ensuring they are in focus for group shots.
The video footage is condensed into the H.264 format and you can easily post online or load onto your video iPod via iTunes. The device can start up and begin shooting as quick as 1.7 seconds and you can take still shots while you are recording video. A fully charged battery will give you up to 135 minutes of recording time. You can easily hook it up to your PC and drag and drop files for edit. All it really lacks is top class image stabilization but you can buy it for $445 on Amazon and get a tripod and for this quality it will still be a lot cheaper than most of the alternatives.
