This is a 10 megapixel camera with plenty of automatic features which make it suitable for amateur photographers. There is built in dual image stabilization, automatic scene recognition, face detection and automatic red eye removal. You can choose settings manually or you can let the camera optimize the shot for you. It also supports 12x optical zoom and instant zoom for easy tracking of a subject. It even has a continuous high speed shooting mode which lets you capture up to 15 frames at 7.5 frames per second and 2 megapixel quality or 6 frames at 3.3 frames per second and 5 megapixel quality.
The camera also allows you to record some video, VGA quality at 30 frames per second with sound. It takes SD or SDHC memory cards and there is a 2.7 inch high resolution LCD screen. You can also take panoramic shots and sew them together, it goes up to ISO 1600 and it takes 4 AA batteries. You can get this camera for around $200.
