The Newest Digital Cameras from Canon
Posted June 23rd, 2009 by vernons
Canon currently has three new digital cameras on the market. Canon digital cameras are always the top of the line, and some of the best quality digital cameras on the market, especially for professional photographers, or even just amateur hobby photographers. Each camera is designed to meet the specific needs of the photographer, although the products reviewed here will be compared based on their varying qualities.
PowerShot SX1 IS
This camera is the heaviest of the bunch, weighing in at over one and a quarter pounds. It also has the lowest megapixel count; 11.8. However, it is one of the two faster cameras in terms of shuttle speed, (1/3200 fps) and possibly easier to charge. It uses AA batteries, rather than the more expensive Lithium-Ion batteries like the other two, and comes with an optional power adapter.
PowerShot D10
This camera is the lightest camera of the three, and looks like it has the best qualities, with the highest Megapixel count at 12.7. However, it also has the slowest shuttle speed; 1/1500 fps, and only one shooting speed, whereas the other two cameras have two. Also, because of its smaller size, it has the smallest viewfinder, though only by a fraction of an inch, and it is still widescreen.
PowerShotSX200 IS
This camera has the middle ground between the two above, in both terms of weight, and Megapixels. It’s MP count is 12.4, and its weight is only 7.76 ounces; just a shade heavier than the PowerShot D10. It also has two shooting speeds, and a shutter speed of 1/3200, like the PowerShot SX1 IS, however, it has a higher MP count, and it’s lighter. Of the three cameras, the PowerShot SX200 IS is definitely the best choice; it has the versatility to be compatible with almost ever photographer’s needs, and incorporates all the strength of the other two cameras, with less of their weaknesses. It’s like a compromise between the two!
