With an improvement of 50% on the same quarter last year profits are confounding the critics and looking extremely healthy. They just made a profit of $3.37 billion in the last quarter. This is largely down to the Mac and iPhone with iPod sales apparently dropping off. is now a $50 billion company and they’re set to announce a new product on Wednesday. Speculation suggests we can expect a tablet computer with all sorts of functionality but we’ll have to wait and see.

It seems the months leading up to Christmas were the best ever for and their products, especially the iPhone are proving highly desirable. Perhaps more surprisingly Mac sales have been rocketing as well with many first time Mac buyers entering the market. Thanks to clever design and quality products have gone from strength to strength and managed to continue to sell their products at a premium based on that design even although you can often find cheaper alternatives with greater functionality.
