Nikon CoolPix S500

Posted Sunday, April 26th, 2009 by vernons

Nikon is a company that has gone hand and hand with cameras for many years now. They make many different types of cameras. There is a camera for just about everything you could imagine using a camera for. Many people look for cameras that will offer than top-notch image quality for a decent price. For these people, the is the camera they should look into buying. It will cost a user around $300 to purchase. This camera has many excellent features to offer both professional and beginning photographers.

The has a 7.1 megapixel with a 3X zoom lens and a 2.5 inch LCD screen on the backside of the camera. The body of the camera is made of a tough metal that will be able to withstand some dropping. The also has automatic face detection and optical image stabilization. Although the face detection does have some problems recognizing people who have tilted head or people that are wearing glasses. The image stabilization can help you avoid taking blurry images in dull lighting conditions. It can also help avoid blurry images when you are taking pictures in maximum zoom.

Most of the controls of the camera are operated using your right thumb. People who have big fingers might find the small buttons a problem. But having all of the controls on the one side you can easily use this camera even with only one hand open. There is a scroll wheel that makes navigating the menus easier. One great feature is the ability to click to the right and spin allowing you to alter the exposure compensations. This is a great camera for anyone who likes to take pictures.

Samsung PN42B450 42-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV

Posted Saturday, April 25th, 2009 by simon

Samsung PN42B450

Samsung are still making new Plasma televisions and this 42 inch model was released recently. It features a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, brightness of 1500 cd/m2 and 600Hz Subfield Motion anti-blur technology. There is also an anti-glare filter which you will definitely need with this level of brightness.

It also has built in TV tuners, a digital audio optical output, 2 HDMI ports, 1 component port, 2 composite ports and a VGA port for hooking it up to a PC. Plasma televisions handle motion much better with far faster response rates than LCDs and they are also brighter but the resolution is typically lower. This model costs a little over $700 which makes it cheaper than an equivalent LCD but it will use more power and is unlikely to last as long. Plasmas seem to have fallen out of favour and Samsung are one of the few companies to release a new model in recent months.

Do you like to take picture outside when it is raining? Or have you ever thought how nice it would be to start taking rainy day pictures? There are many decisions that you have to make before you choose what camera. Some of the things that someone has to look at are what type of features you are looking to use. There are many cameras that you could choose from. One of the cameras that are out of the market that can be used outside in the rain is the compact digital camera, costing around $250.

The reason this camera can be used outside in the rain is that it is weatherproof. It makes this camera perfect for the rain, use at the beach and even skiing on the slopes. There are many other features on this camera that makes it great for other uses. The camera features a 5X optical zoom lens. One the backside there is a LCD screen that measures 2.7 inch. To help you avoid blurry images, there is a digital image stabilizer. The can be found in a few different colors. These colors include bright red, black, baby blue and silver.

One of the downsides of this camera is its control buttons. When the camera was tested, the control buttons where found to be slippery when compared to other cameras. The buttons can also be hard to press; the zoom button is a thin rocker button that is the size of a small piece of pasta. Overall, this camera is a good camera if you are looking to find something to shoot outdoor pictures where water might be involved.
