Foldable Active Noise Canceling Headphones – Review

Posted Saturday, November 29th, 2008 by vernons

Last week I received ableplanet’s new noise cancelling headphones “Clear Harmony Foldable with Linx Audio”. I have been using these headphones for roughly 4 days now in the office and I am pretty impressed with I see and hear.

Below is a list of what I liked:

  1. Noise cancelling was excellent
  2. The headphones are very comfortable not only around your ears but also your head. They literally fit like a glove.
  3. Sound quality was very good – Bose Quiet Comfort 3 would be the comparable product and was better on sound but they do retail for $349.00.
  4. The headphones are also very sturdy; it will take a lot to break or damage them.
  5. The nicest feature of all is that they fold very nicely into a small compact size.

I also think that for $99.99 you can’t go wrong with this product. To see more details you can check here.

Nokia E63 Business Phone: Retouched E71!

Posted Thursday, November 27th, 2008 by Alex Ion

Nokia’s E63 business phone has been finally made official and while it was long coming, the feeling among many is that it is nothing but the E71 retouched with a reduced price tag and added entertainment features.

Not that Nokia has done something bad by going that way with the E63 which offers quad-band 3G with GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, A2DP Bluetooth and even Infrared as connectivity options. The QWERTY keyboard and the Symbian 9.2 S60 version 3.2 software that it runs on are the same as those with E71 earlier but it is the new touch sensitive Navi-Wheel which encircles the traditional d-pad, that makes the difference.

The 2 megapixel camera along with a 3.5mm jack plug, media player and an FM radio make Nokia E63 a bit of an entertainment option when you get bored with work. The 8GB memory card slot should be sufficient for your office needs. Battery life has been upped to 432 hours standby and 11 hours talktime, compared to the E71, while the metal exterior has been dropped for a plastic casing which reduces weight.

All in all, if you do not already own an E71, then wait for the E63 to come around.

Sony Ericsson unveils W705: Bringing Wi-Fi to the Walkman range!

Posted Thursday, November 27th, 2008 by Alex Ion

Sony Ericsson has officially announced the release of their latest addition to the series with the W705 and the newest member of the series brings with it Wi-Fi capability to the Walkman range for the very first time.

Sony Ericsson W705 is a 3G slider with HSDPA support and you would also get the latest Sony Ericsson Walkman v3.0 software, an FM RDS radio and the YouTube video service. It also sports a 3.5 megapixel camera with flash and for a phone that is designed for music that is pretty good stuff. Also, the addition of Wi-Fi surely makes downloading videos and music a lot easier for you.

The W705 somehow mysteriously seems to miss the 3.5mm socket for your own headphones, but makes that up with an adapter. The standby of 400 hours and a talktime of 10 hours are impressive and W705 also seems to be fine fitting into your pocket with the 98 gm in weight and 14mm in thickness. - via DialAPhone

Acer X1260

Posted Thursday, November 27th, 2008 by TechGeek

This projector is similar to the Acer X1160Z but in addition to the 2,000 ANSI Lumens brightness, 2000:1 contrast ratio and 4,000 hours of lamp life it offers an incredible 1024×768 resolution picture.

This would be reasonable for gaming or watching movies but is probably better suited to business applications or education. It will easily provide the crisp clarity you need for presentations. The streamlined design includes a detachable remote control and it also has eco-friendly features which guarantee low power consumption. The projector weighs just 2.3 kg making it easy to transport and thanks to the smart format technology, along with the auto input detection, it is also quick and easy to set up. There’s even a timer to keep you on track with your presentations and a chalkboard mode in case a white screen is not available.

It is a little more expensive than the X1160Z at around $550 but for busy professionals seeking a presentation aid the extras justify the price tag.

Acer X1160Z

The Acer X1160Z is a quality projection system at an affordable price which would be ideal for an office or school. It features a sleek minimalist design with a handy remote control which can also be fitted onto the projector. Color boost technology with 2000 ANSI Lumens brightness, 2000:1 contrast ratio and the ability to display resolutions up to 800×600 will give you a crystal clear image. It detects the input as soon as a source is connected so you’ll have no problems with signal scanning and the smart format technology eliminates the need to fiddle with resolution settings.

In this environmentally conscious age the manufacturers have also included some eco-friendly options so you can customize your power settings and if the projector isn’t in use it will turn itself off automatically. It also comes with a 2 year warranty and you should get around 4,000 hours of life out of the lamp. Price wise you are looking at around $400.
