The Violent Game ‘Manhunt 2′ Still Banned in United Kingdom

Posted Monday, October 8th, 2007 by Mihnea Boiangiu

I don’t know if you have ever played this game, but I’ve seen scenes from it. In fact, that was the first version, played by a friend of mine. I am telling you this game should not reach people under 18. It is extremely violent and can provoke psychological traumas.

The news about ‘Manhunt 2′ being banned have come today when British regulators didn’t accept the revised version of the game motivating the changes didn’t go far enough to alter the game’s “bleakness and callousness of tone.”

“The impact of the revisions on the bleakness and callousness of tone, or the essential nature of the game play, is clearly insufficient,” explained British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) director David Cooke.

Manhunt 2

Manhunt 2 had been set for release in June, but Take Two Interactive Inc. suspended plans to distribute the game after it was rejected in US and Europe. After two months of changes, the game was accepted by the rating board for US release. It received Mature rating indeed. It will be available this Halloween for PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable and Nintendo Wii.

However ‘Manhunt 2′ remains banned in UK due to BBFC requests to eliminate the violent and horror scenes. Take-Two and Rockstar Games agreed to resubmit a further edited version of the game.

Samsung YP-P2 Available in Korea

Samsung YP-P2

The newest DAP-PMP from Samsung has been released in Korea. The wonderful player has been launched in three versions: 2GB priced at 199000Won (or 154Euros), 4GB at 239000Won (or 185Euros) and 8GB which costs no less than 289000Won (or 224Euros). All I could say it that Samsung YP-P2 looks very good. Neither the specs are not so bad: 3″ touchscreen, Bluetooth, FM radio and DNSE (Digital Natural Sound Engine). All those packed in a 9.9 millimeters thick case. My only concern is the price, which seem a little higher for this product.

NTT DoCoMO Unveils Prototype Phone That Monitors Your Health

Posted Monday, October 8th, 2007 by Alex Ion

NTT DoCoMo Wellness Phone

With so many mobile phones launched each day it’s hard to keep track of them and remember what each of them feature, but that’s not the case with NTT DoCoMo’s (NYSE:DCM) latest phone that is apparently able to monitor your health functions just like a smart treadmill.

The wellness phone could be quite useful because thanks to a motion sensor inside, it knows if you’re resting, running or climbing, can calculate if and how many calories you’ve burnt, takes your pulse and tells your body fat. There are two more things this little gadget could to for you: breath analyzer and stress analyzer. Blow into it and it will tell you a few things about your breathing, or answer a few questions and it will tell you if you’re stressed out or not.

The wellness phone from NTT DoCoMo is still in developing phase because they have a lot of testing to do before they release it to the market and also want to add a few key features like calorie intake and ability to track meals. Sounds like a winner to me because I can’t wait to be more disciplined with eating and sports.

ETEN’s Glowfish M800 is a SMARTphone!

Posted Monday, October 8th, 2007 by Alex Ion

Eten Glowfish M800Fellow gadgeters from PocketInfo.nl in the Netherlands, got some interesting facts about the new ETEN Glowfish M800 which is supposed to upgrade the one we already know, Glowfish X800. Though the term smartphone is pretty generic I am talking about a really SMARTphone, because from the specs I’ve seen it’s quite a champion.

Let’s get into some details. Your applications will work thanks to a 500MHz Samsung processor, on Windows Mobile 6 Professional. With 256MB ROM, HSDPA/UMTS and 2 cameras, I am sure many so called smartphones can hear Eten’s Glowfish M800 breath. And did I mention the SiRFstar III GPS chip or the 1530 mAh battery?

Comparable with HTC’s TyTN II but with a better battery and a VGA display, Glowfish M800 will sell for 600-630 euros (that’s $850 - $890) starting from November 2007.

24-carat gold MacBook Pro and a diamond Apple logo

If you ever imagined a MacBook Pro made out of gold, Computer Choppers has it. I wonder what will all those Apple fanatics will think about this one, because not many will afford to, at least, touch it. In fact this is an old MacBook Pro that has been modified and covered in 24-carat gold along with a big diamond Apple logo.

Don’t expect it to go into mass production because these guys mentioned they are only doing unique laptop customization. Still this new 24kt Gold MacBook Pro is a beauty and I might get in touch with them to get my Acer, some wheels.
