Samsung Unveils 1.8″ 64 GB SSD
Posted Tuesday, March 27th, 2007 by Marius TrusculescuWe already announced Seagate and Intel reveled their SSD (solid state drive) and today Samsung presented its new solution based on the flash memory.

The new product presented today is an improved version of last year’s 32 GB SSD Samsung introduced, providing 20% better performance. Achieving speeds of 64 MB/s (megabytes per second) at reading and 45 MB/s at writing the SSD is a major improvement over conventional magnetic based drives due to lower power requirements and higher reliability. However a major downsize is the price for now.
The mass production for this device is expected to start in the second quarter of the year and no price has yet been announced.
