New Look For PC’s

Posted Monday, January 29th, 2007 by Marius Trusculescu

Desktops have their own fashion but searching for a chassis is not just looking for the best design as it must fit your computer’s requirements first. Asus tries to come at your rescue with the new TA-66 line of chassis that provide both a cool design and great functionality.

As computers tend to consume more and more power the heat inside the chassis is constantly increasing with performance. This is why heat dissipation should always be your priority. Asus addressed that issue with two 120mm fans one in the front and other in the back of your PC to ensure a constant air flow inside the chassis and to keep your hardware cool while also keeping the noise low.

But Asus has thought at the design too and the TA-66 line looks great. The chassis also offers access to USB 2.0 ports via a front panel that includes connectors for your microphone and headphones too. Concerning the colors you can rest assure that you will find one for your taste as the product comes in 5 different versions.

I didn’t cover the Pocket Pc segment in a while so I will break the ice with one of HP’s products, the iPAQ rx4240. With the price set at $299.99 this device offers some good value considering the features it packs.

HP pocket PC

Free Yourself With Creative’s Wireless 9000 Pro

Posted Sunday, January 28th, 2007 by Marius Trusculescu

With the new Wireless 9000 Pro keyboard and mouse set, Creative is trying to set a new standard for both the functionality and the design of PC interfacing devices. I think there is no need to try convincing you of the good looks of this set as the picture speaks for itself and if this doesn’t impress you I don’t know what would.

Creative Wireless 9000 Pro

The simple, yet stylish keyboard, has (besides the regular keys) a set of 15 buttons for special hot-key actions like opening you music player, internet browser, calculator and many other useful functions. For controlling the volume, Creative used not regular buttons, but a wheel that’s gorgeously integrated above the numpad area. Concerning the second device of the set know that a 800 dpi optical sensor provides precise movement tracking for the 7 buttons wireless mouse.

Both the mouse and the keyboard are rechargeable and you can even use them while recharging using the included USB recharging cable. All the above are really nice feature, but the best thing in my opinion is the range of this devices, which is stated to top 7m (23 ft.) without any drop in performance.

Samsung SGH-X820 review

Posted Sunday, January 28th, 2007 by Mihnea Boiangiu

It can be called the world’s slimmest cellphone. With only 6.9 mm thickness it was the slimmest phone in the world at its launch. Using Smart Surface Mounting Technology, Samsung has created an ultra slim mobile without compromising its functionality.

Samsung SGH-X820

Take a look at the list of features:
2 Megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom
1.9” 262K QVGA TFT-LCD
Bluetoothâ„¢ printing
Music player (MP3/WMA/AAC/AAC+/e-AAC+/AMR)
Offline flight mode (listen to music or take pictures even during a flight)
Multi-tasking (simultaneous music playback and phone function control*)
Simple Search
Direct TV output+
80 MB user memory
Speakerphone
Document Viewer
- MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TXT, PDF and JPEG files
Connectivity
- Bluetoothâ„¢ 1.2 (A2DP/AV RCP), USB, MMS, SyncML (Local), GPRS Class 10, Javaâ„¢ MIDP2.0, WAP 2.0
Personal Organiser
- email client, to-do list, vCard, v Calendar, alarm clock, voice memo, calculator, currency converter

Regarding the list above, I would declare myself very pleased of Samsung SGH-X820. The great TFT display maximizes your visual experience. Furthermore, the TV-output option helps you connect the phone to a larger screen. Also the music player supports a wide range of music files. The 80MB memory is fair, but it isn’t expandable. That would be a problem for the phone, in case you want to use more of the multimedia features. The Bluetooth allows users to print or to make data transfers wireless. The price for this Ultra Slim mobile is around $330.
