HTC P3300 review

Posted Wednesday, December 27th, 2006 by Mihnea Boiangiu

This is a new communicator coming from HTC, after the successful HTC Magician. HTC P3300 is a personal mobile navigator based on the Windows Mobile 5 platform. We found this cellphone very interesting and we try to give you some advices.
The great design and the small size (108 x 58 x 16.8 mm) make HTC P3300 a good choice for mobile fans. The device has an integrated GPS receiver ensuring you know where you are at anytime, in any place. Other features that need to be mentioned here are Wi-Fi connectivity and Bluetooth. Moreover, HTC P3300 has FM radio and supports MP3/AAC files. Its memory can be expanded through the microSD card. The users have the possibility of using Office applications like Word, Excel and Outlook. Furthermore the Tom Tom 6 Navigator application keeps you informed about the maps and directions.
Nevertheless, this phone has some disadvantages. It processor is rather slow. HTC P3300 doesn’t support 3G networks, doesn’t have an infrared port and its camera is very poor. Besides, the trackball doesn’t run smoothly. If you are planning to use this device for audio purposes, you would be disappointed because HTC P3300 doesn’t have a standard audio output. The TFT touchscreen display is vulnerable to scratches, so we recommend you to use a protecting foil.

HTC P3300

To sum up, I would say this communicator has some key advantages like perfect size, shinning display, an integrated GPS receiver, Wi-Fi and EDGE support. Although its processor is kind of slow, this doesn’t affect P3300 functionality. You could be very satisfied with its performance. This mobile can be yours for $599.99.

LG KG 320S review

Posted Saturday, December 23rd, 2006 by Mihnea Boiangiu

LG KG 320S can be described in two words: small and simple. LG have created a nice mobile for low prices. If you want a good cellphone, nothing extravagant, KG 320S is the candidate. First impression when you see this mobile is business style. The small dimensions and its weight (only 70g) will strengthen your first opinion. The front side is very stylish and elegant, while the backside is like a digital camera.

The phone has a nice TFT display with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. The 1.3 megapixel camera allows you to take nice pictures and video images. KG 320S disposes of 128 MB internal memory. I would say it is sufficient for phone which isn’t pretentious. On the other hand, users, who want use the phone for multimedia purposes, would complain the memory is not enough because KG 320S doesn’t have a slot card. Other features that need to be mention are Bluetooth and the Mp3 player. In addition, the cellphone plays MP4, AMR, AAC and WMA files.
LG KG 320S

All in all, the ratio quality-price is very good. We recommend this cellphone for a low-budget user. You can obtain a good mobile with no expenses.

Blackberry Pearl. Small, Smart and Stylish!

Posted Thursday, December 21st, 2006 by Mihnea Boiangiu
Blackberry Pearl

Blackberry Pearl is one of the smallest smartphones in the world. It’s dimensions are minimal: 107 x 50 x 14.5 mm and only 89.5 g. This marvelous piece of art can be described in 3 words: small, smart and stylish. Blackberry Pearl supports 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS and EDGE networks, so it can be used in North America and Europe too. The smartphone has some great functions, but it can be improved. For example, the screen offers only 65k colors, in comparison with other new mobile phones which have better screens. The Blackberry Pearl 8100 has a SureType keyboard technology in a QWERTY-style layout. It is equipped with dedicated Send, End and Mute keys, and has the option for the user to define his own keys.
I want to present you the main advantages of this cellphone:
– brilliant design and good quality materials;
- 1.3 megapixel flash camera, with 5x digital zoom;
- Blackberry Maps, for driving directions in US and Canada;
- expandable memory capability (microSD card);
- trackball navigation;
- Document viewer (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF.)

It has some weak points too:
– 65k colors display;
- no infrared port;
- no Wi-Fi.

Prices for this smartphone are around $500. For a business mobile, the price is fair.

Sony PlayStation 3 – This is living

Posted Wednesday, December 20th, 2006 by Mihnea Boiangiu

If you are a PlayStation fan or just a big gamer, you will enjoy reading this article. Sony has released a new game console. This is the new standard for HD(high-definition) gaming experience. PlayStation 3 was released in November, first in Japan and then in US, Canada, Honk-Kong and Taiwan. It directly competes with Microsoft’s xBox 360 and Nitendo’s Wii.

PS3

PS3 was a success from the first day. Sony sold 81,639 PS3 system in 24 hours from launching in Japan. In US, during the first week from its launching, PS3 was sold on eBay for prices up to $5,000. That can be explained because of the Christmas Holidays. So, gamers tried to get a PS3 for a Christmas present. Other stunning incidents were happening in US: customers were shot, campers fought for PS3 systems.

Sony PS3 is a great entertainment center. It uses a Cell Broadband Engineâ„¢, a built-in Blu-ray that will get you in the high-definition world. With Blu-ray, users can enjoy high-definition games or movies. Blu-ray gives them vast capacity storage of 50GB, ten times what DVD can offer. Furthermore, PS3 comes with the default 20 GB HDD, or optional 60 GB HDD. PS3 has many improvements from its forerunner PS2. For example it has SD card, Memory Stick Duo and Compact Flash card slots. These features are available for the premium version with 60 GB HDD. The Wi-FI wireless network is also available.

A special improvement from the previous version is the wireless controller SIXAXIS. It looks like its predecessor DualShock, but it has a finer analogue sensitivity. Despite its new features, SIXAXIS has a problem! It doesn’t have vibration function. PS3 supports up to 7 controllers through Bluetooth technology. SIXAXIS can be charged from the console via USB cable, which can also be used for wired play.

The PlayStation 3 gives you unprecedented control, access and enjoyment of a full range of digital media: movies, music, photos and internet. With three Ethernet ports, the user can connect easily to the internet. Enjoy!
Sony announced that PS3 systems for European market will be available from March 2007. The delay was caused by the lack of diodes used for Blu-Ray drive. Prices for this console are between $490 – $930, depending on the market. Enjoy PlayStation3 Experience!
